Mail from Melanie!

After getting home from our lovely camping trip we picked up our mail. There were some good things in it... a wedding annoucement, my paycheck and ads of course. But the most fun came in a box from my sister Melanie. After seeing my blog post about my lovely Excuse me Yellow, she got me more new nail polish! So now I have lots of new colors to paint my finger nails with. First item to do is to take off what remains of old polish. I have this lovely habit of putting it on and then slowly scrapping it off until there is nothing left, which takes a few days. I really just need to use my nail polish remover more often. Picture to come when I have a new polish on... but what color to use first?!??!

(This post is dedicated to Melanie, without which, it could not have happened :) )

Daffodils

Last year we started noticing growth coming up around our patio outside our apartment. WE had no idea what the heck was growing, but within a month or so, we saw what it was... DAFFODILS! And so every year they come up and make my patio the prettiest patio in the complex (everyone should be jealous). There are lots of pretty flowers on them and I quite enjoy having them when I sit outside (cause it's totally warm enough to do that now, woot!).

RIP Dear Brush

After waking up from an afternoon nap, I went to brush my hair. And this is what I found on my bathroom floor. It looks like I'm going to have to invest in another hair brush. I'm a bit sad about this. I've had this brush for years and it's been very good to me. It was my most favorite brush I ever had. So I say a fond farewell to my dear brush.

Easter Lily

My visiting teacher brought me over this lovely flower today. She knows I've been having a hard week or two and was thinking of me. It's an Easter Lily, which is perfect for the upcoming holiday. It smells wonderful and it's awesome to have a plant in the house. I'm not quite though where I want to put it. For now it's going to hang out on my coffee table.

Wall Hangin'

These are the paintings I made that are now hung up in my bedroom. Cute, I know. I'll put up pictures soon of my actual bedroom and these on the wall. But here's a good pic of all three of them close together. I think they're super fun.

Excuse Me Yellow

So the other day I was feeling a little bit down. So on my trip out of the house (I really needed to leave the apartment... it had been a few days) I went to the walsmart. I was in search of the perfect shade of purple nail polish, which I never ended up finding, there was none that I was in love with. But while there I saw this... the most amazing shade of yellow nail polish I have ever seen in my life. It's the color of that Lighting Lemonade gum from Bubbalicious that I used to love to much. This picture doesn't quite show the awesomeness of this shade. They had a whole line of this stuff, but only the blue was there (and this was the last yellow), but I'm thinking they're all going to be super fun colors. So I may have to go back and see if they have more that I just can't live without. Oh, and it's called "Excuse Me", by the Pure Ice people.

Dates and Goals

Jameson and I went on a date tonight. We went to Fazoli's and then saw the Blind Side. Now, I know it's already out on video, but you really can't be the dollar theater, which is actually back down to a dollar (because of the economy they say). We were originally going to see Sherlock Holmes, but alas, it was sold out. Anyway, really good movie. One of those feel good kind. And I'm really not into sport movies, but this one had hardly any football game scenes, one I think. Also a practice scene. So with all that lack of football, I really liked it. I get bored when they show me game after game (remember the titans anyone?) (or any of the mighty duck movies?). I mean, I'm sure there's a point.... soooo boring though. Point being, I had a good night out with my husband. I've been thinking lately and I decided I should probably get in as many dates as we can before we actually have kids and don't have the opportunity to. So I'm going to try and make a goal to go and do cool things and have lots of fun while we still can. I'm never going to be this young and carefree ever again, so I should get carefree. Next weekend we're going camping. I LOVE camping. We're just going to Cuivre River this time. But when it warms up enough to go in the water, I'm going down to Johnson's Shut-ins, which is close to Elephant Rock and Tom Sauk Mountain (the highest point in Missouri), which should be a fun trip. It's the first year the shut-ins have been open since the flood they had a couple of years back, 2007 I think?
Anyway. My goal this week is to get my life back in order. I've really let everything go this past week or two. And I think it's time I start living like a civilized human being again. So first on the agenda (after I finish my book of course) is to clean the apartment. It's filthy, like beyond filthy. We are officially out of silverware, even the big kind that you use to ladle soup and spread butter. It's being pathetic. I think I used to have a coffee table under all that mess. So that is the major goal of this upcoming week. Also to exercise at least 3 times. I will also make dinner and not buy it in a drive thru. These are my goals.
I have also been trying to send photos to my blog from my phone and have been extremely unsuccessful. So hopefully soon you all can see pictures of my amazing new nail polish, which I bought to brighten my day (it's bright yellow).
I think I'm procrastinating doing things I should be, like putting photos on cds and baking rice crispy treats for my primary class tomorrow. Sigh, maybe I'll wake up early and do it. Hooray for Sunday afternoon naps, cause I feel like I'm not going to sleep much tonight. Sometimes it stinks being nocturnal.
