Oh wait! I have another one. Two things that bug me.
The first thing that bugs me is when people think that they are superior because the go to BYU and not BYU-Idaho. I don't understand this. I hate when people think that byui is a community college to byu. Not all of us wanted to go to byu, not all of us are that fake and stuck on ourselves. And it bugs me when they have never even stepped foot on byui's campus. I mean really? How can we judge if we haven't even been to the place, it's ridiculous. And yes, byui hasn't been around nearly as long as byu, we get that, we're a new as far as a 4 year university goes, but did not every school begin sometime? And some of us never even considered byu as a choice because we didn't want to go there, eww. I just think people are stupid and ignorant and should get over themselves and it just proves my point at what type of people go to byu.
The second thing that bugs me. Just because eventually I want to stay at home and raise my own children does not mean that I am against equal rights. I got into a discussion the other day with one of my coworkers and women staying at home with the children vs. having a job. And he basically said that women who want to stay at home are lazy and that they don't believe in equal opportunity or rights of women. Suddenly I was condemned for not wanting some stranger to raise my children. It was ridiculous. And really, it's great that woman can now work beside men in the work field. And really, it's great that women can vote. I'm all for it. But it I think we also get to make the decision on whether we want to raise our own children or not. My coworker also thought I was ridiculous because I thought that my husband should be the one to provide for the family and be the main provider to our family. I mean, right now while I don't have any kids I'm willing to work and am working. I just see how different people see the family now and the roles of a mother and father and men and women. And while they are free to do what they want, I would like the chance to make my own choice.
