A Post of Photos From My Ipod

Some exciting news... I got an Ipod touch! I know, I know. Maybe a little behind on the times, but dang it, I got one and I love it. And oh the picture taking going on with my Ipod. I do believe it needs a name though? And I put on a blogger app, so loading all my photos is crazy easy now. So here my friends, is a post full of photos I've taken with my new ipod. And they're all of James ;), cause he's cute.

I found this outfit in his drawer and love it, even if it's a bit cold for no sleeves. Eh, our apartment's usually warm.

The halloween outfit my sister Melanie got for James (cause I love owlies). And isn't he crazy adorable?

Oh his sock monkey. That boy has mad love for his sock monkey (see next photo).

Yummy sock monkeeeey! It's his favorite, that and his little phone rattle. Will get picture of that some time.

This one I took today. Cause he was cute. And sleeping. And I couldn't resist. He's got his hands all over his pluggie, which can be annoying at times. He's figured out how to take out the pluggie from his mouth, but has yet to master putting it back in. So he gets all angry and cries when he pulls it out, but I'm all like, it's you're own fault little dude.

James in his stroller on a walk with his d-a-d.

Again, I just couldn't resist. I love that sleeping boy.

Hehehehehe, one little foot got away!

So in the mornings, around 7 am or so, I pull my little boy into bed with me, were he sleeps the rest of his sleep. And this is what I get to see every morning. And it's the best thing ever!

James in his bumbo. He started pulling up his neck like he wanted to sit up. So I got on craigslist and found a lady here in town who was selling one on the cheap. Off I went to get it. And he LOVES sitting up. It's like a whole new world yet to be discovered.

And now my baby is awake and crying for my attention. I must go rescue him.

James Tries His First Food

James is 4 months old today!
And a couple of days ago we tried giving him his first food. Rice cereal of course, cause that's what you do. And I have to say, that he quite enjoyed it. He liked it so much we had to make more because he would cry when we weren't feeding him. I think the spoon though is his favorite part. He grabs on and won't let go and tries to shove it in his mouth. And now some pictures of the adventure...

I will say it was a bit messy. And so we had to throw him in a tub to clean him off. Note to self, next time remember the bib sooner. I also, try not to get it in his eye... or ears... and up his nose.

Baby bath time! Which btw, is one of his FAVORITE times. He could be screaming bloody murder for an hour without anything calming him down, but as soon as you put him in that tub, he is solid gold.

Starfish!

And he loves to chew on the rags. I think because he can get a good grip on it and keep it in his mouth. He has a harder time keeping that starfish in.

And of course, after the bath, you get one amazing bundle of towel baby. And boy does James like that towel baby. He's finally in love with his own reflection. Loves to smile at that baby in the mirror.

Three Books in Review

Creature of the Night - Kate Thompson

Here's a story of a teenage boy, Bobby, set in Ireland. After some problems with Bobby in the city (and some creditors), his mother, who is a bit irresponsible herself, moves them out to the countryside to start over. They rent a little house belonging to their neighbors. But once there they learn of the disappearance of the previous tenant and are also told to leave a bowl of milk out on the porch to appease the fairies. Bobby not wanting to be there, steals the neighbors and soon after has to make amends by helping out on their farm. The book is full of the mystery of 'the fairies', but more importantly about Bobby learning to grow up and taking responsibility.

All in all a good read. Kept you interested with all of Bobby's decisions, the neighbor's loving nature and the mystery of the previous tenants. If you're looking for an easy, quick, good read, I would recommend this one.

The Uninvited - Tim Wynne-Jones

In this story we see the lives of three young twenty somethings intertwine in a small Canadian Town. First we have Mimi, who is taking a break after a breaking things off with her Professer, to go live in her Dad's cabin. But when Mimi arrives there she meets our second Character, Jay. Jay is a young musician trying to create some new music in this cabin. They soon realize they are half-siblings and begin a friendship. Our third character, Crammer, is a loner boy, from a broken home, who spies on the other two. And after a break in at the cabin the mystery in sues on what or who is breaking in.

This book was ok, not my favorite, but worth a read if you have some extra time. At first glance, and after reading the cover, I thought this was going to be more of scary monster story. I'll tell you now, it is not. So don't be fooled by that cover (which is how I choose books a lot, by their cover. I can't help it if I have a thing for a mysterious covers and one word titles). The changing point of views leaves it interesting enough. And the end, well, you'll see.
*Also not the same story as the movie with the same title.

Lament - Maggie Stiefvater

Deirdre Monaghan is a 16 year old girl who plays the harp. She's always known she was bit different, but it isn't until she meets Luke Dillon that she realizes how different. After meeting in a girls bathroom and an amazing duet at a recital, the two come together. But Luke has a secret of his own, he is an assassin for the Faerie queen, who of course, wants to kill Deirdre. Deirdre is thrust into a whole new world after all of the four leaf clovers start appearing and her new powers start emerging.

This book was entertaining, especially if you are into the young adult fantasy genre like me. I wouldn't buy it in hardback or anything, but overall good.

Goodbye Bumper Goodbye Money

One second of stupidity equals large amounts of money. This is what happens when one runs into the covered parking pole in our complex; it totally rips off your bumper and headlight. And life sure is funny. Because just the night before we splurged and bought plane tickets to see my sister in Phoenix, thinking we were doing well with our finances. Funny how things go. If this had happened 12 hours later we wouldn't have gone (but it was totally worth it, the trip was, not the running into the poll part). Needless to say, we will never be parking under there again. The spots are just far too small and I apparently can't check for cars and back up at the same time.

807 A

*Here's a post I started in the summer. An ode of sorts to our apartment at 807 A.

We have lived in the little old apartment complex for the past almost 3 years of our lives. And for the most part it has been good to us.

This is the apartment where Jamo and I will have lived the first 3 years of our marriage, the place where we've gotten to really know each other. Like how Jamo talks constantly in his sleep; or how he will leave the room and turn up the volume on the tv if you are throwing up; the way he is ticklish while awake, but never when he sleeps; the way he claps his hands really fast when he gets excited.

This the apartment that Jameson spent most of his college career in. First going to the community colleg; and then upgrading to a the big boy school, UMSL. It's were he spent countless hour doing homework, while I sat and tried not to bug him in the other room. It was staying up with him while he pulls all nighters at the end of the semesters to try and finish papers and projects. It was sitting at home, pregnant and jealous, while he went abroad to Costa Rica. And it was that realization that all of it was about to end, that the end was in sight. And it's where he graduated.

This apartment is where I longed and longed to have a baby. But waiting, always waiting for the right time. Always knowing that that little baby would be my boy, my baby boy, my sweet baby James. And then it happened, in this apartment. Pregnant. And I waited while he grew. And I loved him as he grew, knowing him, never having met him. And I knew I couldn't bring this little child into this apartment.

This apartment, that was perfect for Jameson and I, was not perfect for the three of us. And so two weeks before my baby was born, we moved to the next town over and settled in this third floor apartment, with a room just for him.

But that silly old apartment was home. It's the place in my heart of the beginning of all things. Young, poor, in school, in love, playing house and loving everything. That was Brookmount 807A.
